Ybyktysay, the lace canyon

Ybyktysay is a small canyon washed out by water in soft, ivory-coloured limestone. The walls curve in waves and hollows, and light coming through the narrow slit above creates soft shades and shadows.

Next door is the underground mosque of Karaman-Ata. A short tour here takes half a day; longer routes combine the canyon with the Valley of Castles or Bozzhyra.
