Torysh, the Valley of Spheres

A steppe scattered with stone spheres — from ball-sized ones to huge boulders.

Torysh is one of the most unusual places on the peninsula. Stone spheres lie in the open steppe, alone and in groups; some are split, revealing their layered core. Geologists link them to concretions — hardened lumps that grew inside ancient sea sediments and later surfaced.

The valley pairs well in one day with the chalky Sherkala mountain, the Kokkala gorge and the “Valley of Castles” Airakty-Shomanai — that's how most of our routes are built.
